Aspiring Artists: High school edition vol. 1

This week’s Aspiring Artists comes from Shawano Community High School

Morgan Nielson is currently a freshman at the high school. She loves art and fashion. She recently went to a painting class with her mom. She created a stunning piece of art.

Nelson’s painting

The young artist said that she chose this painting because it suited her. She loves fashion and in her free time likes to do fashion sketches. She chose the colors of the dresses because of the season. Fall was right around the corner when she created this piece, and the dresses reflect the colors of the leaves. Nielson also expressed that this a favorite piece of hers because she was able to spend time with her mom, and it was an activity that they both love.

The Hawks Post’s very own editor in chief Caprice Rush is our second Aspiring Artist this week. Not only is she a talented writer, she can also create masterpieces out of food.

Rush’s swan apple

With virtual learning, classes have taken an interactive way of completing class work. Rush’s Let’s Make a Meal class was instructed to turn an apple into a swan. Using the seeds for eyes and slicing the apple in various directions, the sculpture was made. The unique creation was not only visually appealing, but also delicious.

Both artists had two different kinds of masterpieces, but both are equally impressive. Stay tuned for more local Aspiring Artists!
